The Pedestrian and Bicycling Information Center recognized Ann Arbor for its "commitment to improving and sustaining walkability" late last month, one of only 11 communities nationally to win the inaugural Walk Friendly Communities Award.
I want to walk across america, is there a way to make money by getting corporate sponsers.?

I have an injury, my doctor told me I had to walk several miles a day if I wanted to get better. I want to see america also, Is there a way to make money while while doing both healing myself by walking, and seeing all of america. Perhaps getting some company to pay me for my story and for the publicity I could bring to them as I walk. Any Ideas????

A church did this a year so ago, but they only went from phoenix to DC. They had the sponser of church members etc. They also could afford somebody to follow them and give updates on websites. They did it so people would join them in the church.

To get corporate sponsors you will have to find a news agency in probably every single city that cares. If you can line that up or a national show that interviews you once a week.

Yeah gatorade or somebody will sponsor you if you use their name and wear their clothing. But I think to get sponsership you are going to have to show why it benefits them. They dont advertise just for the hell of it.

*Comic Relief* I can see the gatorade board room saying we are financing this? Yeah he is walking across america. He has all these news things every day. Everybody says nice, lets do it. And the little guy in the corner of the room says. What if he falls over half way through and dies? Silence in the room. Okay lets have coke do it.

Walking with Dinosaurs Production Comes to North America

The thrilling production, Walking with Dinosaurs, is returning to North America this summer, and will include a four day run in Vancouver in August. Narrated by paleontologist character "Huxley," the performance features fifteen life-size mechanical dinosaurs in two acts of live theater.

The show is based on the 1999 award-winning BBC television series of the same name. Well-known designers worked with scientists to accurately recreate the impressive creatures for the live show. The enormous cast includes a thirty-six foot tall Brachiosaurus and a forty-two foot long Tyrannosauras Rex. Along with the mechanical aspects that allow the dinosaurs to walk around, the roaring sounds and dramatic lighting bring the once thriving animals back to life.

The performance guarantees to captivate audiences of all ages. The producer of Walking with Dinosaurs, Carmen Pavlovic, is quoted as saying, "It is the closest you'll ever get to experiencing what it was like when they walked and ruled the earth."

The North American leg of the tour begins this week, June 23 at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. The tour will cover ten cities, and over thirty-five dates. The final days of the tour will take place in Los Angeles, California at Staples Center.
