I got him about a week ago and the tank that he was in at the pet store said only Tiger Oscars all of them looked the same, they all looked really dark and without the stripes or the 'O" hes only about an inch right now. will get those stripes and the O when he gets bigger?

Im pretty sure it is a Tiger Oscar cause it sounds like it. My Tiger Oscar got those stripes and O's when it got around 2"-3"

PS3 Red Light Failure - 3 Steps to Fixing the PS3 Red Light Failure

Do you have what is known as PS3 red light failure? Is the red light refusing to come on? Or is the red light on without your console booting? Was this preceded by three sharp beeps and a faint yellow light? If yes, then here are a few quick tips to help fix the PS3 red light failure.

1. Find Out What Caused it

Usually, the PS3 red light failure is often as a result of too much heat in the in the PSU resulting in the PS3 shutting itself down to prevent further damage. Sometimes, too, it could be as a result of the melted diodes and capacitors which basically cut off all forms of power transmission. You can easily find this out by uncoupling the PS3 and looking at the console processor and HDD.

2. Start Repairs

If the cause of the problem is excessive heat, look for the melted thermal paste, capacitors and diodes. If you find any of these, a quick replacement will surely fix the problem. Please note that this can be quite tricky as it requires guidance to be able to do it successfully. If the problem is with the hard drive, look to make sure it isn't just a software thing.

3. Reinstall the Hard Drive

If the hard drive isn't affected in any physical way, chances are that you could easily fix it by simply restoring the console back to its former state. Another effective alternative would be to slave another HDD to it. Or remove the drive and replace again. This is likely to reset the PS3 and could result in a loss of your games though.

With these 3 steps, your PS3 red light failure will be fixed and your PS3 will be back up and running smoothly again.
