I have a cabbage patch doll that I have had since I was a little girl from 1982. I have cleaned her up and she looks and smells just like she did when I got her! She has the original white mary jane shoes that she came with, brown hair in a pony tail. I will have a pretty ribbon to match her outfit. I need help deciding on the tights.
Black tights with white shoes (her original)?
Black tights with black shoes (will have to get new ones)?
Or white tights and white shoes?
Or whites tights and black shoes?
OR NEITHER!

Clothes for the 18 Inch Doll

If you want to make sure that you keep the clothes for 18 doll that you own in good condition then they will need to be cared for properly. This includes you regularly washing the items to ensure that the material is kept in the best condition possible. Plus avoid keeping the dolls in direct sunlight and also in a room where the temperature fluctuates too much.

So how do you wash such items of clothing? Below we take you through the steps you need to take to clean the clothes for 18 doll that creators of them have developed.

Step 1 – You need to get together the materials that are required to wash the clothes in. The items you need are some vinegar, soap snowflakes, cold water, cotton buds, a sleeve board and some white clean towels. Plus you also need some jars into which the mixture of water soap and vinegar can be placed.

Step 2 – Before you fully immerse any items of clothes for your 18 inch doll into the cleaning solution it is important that you carry out a color test first. To do this you simply dip one of the cotton buds into the cleaning solution and then apply the mixture on to the inner seam of the dolls clothes. If you find that the material reacts adversely to the cleaning solution, then don't wash the item in it. Instead it may be much more advisable to use a foam spray cleaner instead.

Step 3 – The next thing to do when it comes to cleaning clothes for the 18 inch doll that you own is to remove any beads, snaps or hooks from the material. This will ensure that they won't be harmed by the mixture used to clean the clothes in and which they need to be soaked in for about an hour. After the items have been soaked then of course rinse the items thoroughly with distilled cold water to remove all cleaning residue from them.
